In a thrilling display of skill and speed, Lewis Hamilton secured a commanding victory in the sprint race at the Chinese Grand Prix, marking his first win since joining Ferrari. The seven-time world champion outpaced Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, who finished second, while Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc rounded out the podium in third. This triumph not only showcased Hamilton’s seamless transition to the Scuderia but also signaled Ferrari’s strong form heading into the main event.

The sprint race, held at the Shanghai International Circuit, saw Hamilton take the lead early and maintain it with precision over the 19-lap contest. Starting from pole position, he fended off challenges from Verstappen, who struggled to close the gap despite Red Bull’s typically dominant pace. Leclerc, meanwhile, held firm in third, ensuring a double podium for Ferrari and delighting the team’s passionate fanbase.

Hamilton’s move to Ferrari in 2025 has been one of the most talked-about storylines of the Formula 1 season, and this victory serves as a statement of intent. After a storied career with Mercedes, where he clinched six of his seven titles, the British driver has quickly adapted to his new machinery, proving his championship pedigree remains intact. “It feels incredible to get this win with Ferrari,” Hamilton said post-race. “The car felt fantastic, and the team has been working so hard. This is just the beginning.”

Verstappen, the reigning champion, acknowledged Hamilton’s superior pace, admitting Red Bull would need to regroup for Sunday’s Grand Prix. “Lewis was just too quick today,” Verstappen noted. “We’ll analyze and come back stronger.” Leclerc, meanwhile, expressed optimism about Ferrari’s momentum, hinting at a potential challenge for the top step in the main race.

The Shanghai circuit, returning to the F1 calendar after a five-year hiatus, provided a dramatic backdrop for Hamilton’s milestone moment. With its challenging layout and passionate crowd, the venue underscored Ferrari’s resurgence as a frontrunner in the 2025 season.
