In February this year, Ferrari setup the stage for presentation of futuristic Formula 1 car and now McLaren appears to have followed suit. The McLaren MP4-X.
Closed cockpit, zero emission engine and solar cells are the prime features of MP4-X.

With the help of McLaren Applied Technologies, the automaker affirms confidence in their design system and visionary leadership. In their press statement, the spokesperson emphasizes on how Formula 1’s introduction of Halo cockpits was a vision shared by the company three years ago.
“With the futuristic McLaren MP4-X concept racecar, we wanted to peer into the future and imagine the art of the possible,” said John Allert, Group Brand Director, McLaren Group.
The MP4 – X does look majestic but at the same time it houses alternatively adaptive power sources and a hardware communication system which relays data back to the system and tools in event of deviation or failures.
And it doesn’t end there, the one big feature to be curious about the most is the Targeted Ads. The traditional billboards and advertisement stands would not be same for everyone. Infact, for every individual, their browsing history and preferences would determine how the car looks at them.
McLaren concludes in a perception that this concept car certainly could be a reality with the modern technological advancements done by the company and the technology used to produce the concepts are already available.
